It has caused so much controversy that the Disco club has withdrawn the prize and also cancelled the ” Pretty Woman ” party which was aimed at attracting a large number of women to attend the club this weekend .
Women’s organisations and others have been outraged by the promotion of this type of cosmetic surgery as a prize in a raffle .
The club did try to defend the strategy and said that the 4500 euro prize could have been used for other types of cosmetic enhancement .
Even regional health and other govermental agencies became involved in the contoversy saying that there could be sanctions against the club .
The club has now issued an apology after several sprayed messages appeared on the external walls of the disco club.

In 2006 on Christmas Eve a Benitachell man had an argument with his 76 year old stepfather and beat him severely and followed this by stabbing him in the leg with a kitchen knife causing such severe bleeding that the man bled to death .
The public prosecutor is asking for a 10 year sentence for the 40 year old man . The death occured in the family home in Benitachell . The court is expected to pass sentence this week .

The President of CLARO says that the flooding which is caused on the Orihuela Costa is a direct result of overbuilding , including blocking ravines and also building in ravines . Add to this an almost non-existant drainage system and you will have problems .
The rains on November 20 caused a great deal of flooding which trapped people in their homes or in their cars .
The gravel and sand being used to do work on the N332 was washed away and blocked drains , was the excuse given to the public .
One street in Orihuela Costa is constantly being flooded in heavy rain but also with sewage and this was because the infra-structure was left unfinished by the builder .This is due to be rectified and an overflow channel will be built here and on other urbanisations .
Ten days ago rain water with sewage hit the beach at La Zenia and took two days to clear up .

Abusos Urbanisticos Levante Almeriense No ! ( AULAN ) is arranging a protest march in Almeria city in January in an attempt to protect people from the demolition of their homes .
They made this announcement at a meeting in Mojacar and it will take place on the anniversary of the day last January when their founding members had their home demolished .
The aim is to raise awareness of what is happening at the highest levels throughout Spain .
Those participating are not just British expats , the Spanish are also taking part and spoke of the ” land grab ” that they have experienced in Valencia too .
One Spanish lady spoke about the block of flats in which she has lived for 23 years and how the local council has decided to take all of the gardens and car park for a road and then expect the occupants of the flats to pay for it all .This lady was willing to fight for her rights .
The protest march on January 9 is meant to keep the issues in the headlines .

It is innovative and everyone hopes that it will work well . Alicante council has just issued the keys to 72 new council owned flats in a new apartment block and a percentage of them have gone to young people and the rest to the elderly.
The young people have agreed to keep an eye on the more elderly residents and many of these feel delighted that there could be help at hand if needed .
The mayor handed over the keys last Monday and everyone is hoping that the experiment works .
